I've had decent results capturing my 8mm analog tapes to VCD/SVCD. I tried the CVD template found on this site. The playback was jerky and so was the sound.

I've seen a lot of people say to change the FPS to 23.xxx. I thought NTSC was 29.xxx?

I need to know what FPS do I select when capturing from:

    8mm anolog tape
    TV recorded movies from VCR
    direct from TV broadcast

What rezolution do I capture at for SVCD or CVD?

Then, what FPS will I need and what filters do I need in TMPGEnc for converting to SVCD or CVD? I'm confused now.

PS Use IuVCR for capturing since VD doesn't work in XP. I used VD for filtering and resizing. TMPGEnc for covnerting, looking at CCE but haven't seen any results from CCE yet on this site.

OH, I also need to know what field order to use and how do I determine which field order to use for the formats I mentioned above?

Keep it 29.97, since it's not an original Film source. For jerky playback, try changing your field order (common problem/fix)
