I'm having a problem with Virtual Dub. I'm trying to edit a video clip, but after I edit out the parts I don't want, then save the file as a new .avi, the video plays either fast, slow, or jerky, and is out of sync with the audio. I'm not recompressing the video with another codec, or anything else. I've got Virtual Dub set to "direct stream copy" for both audio and video, so shouldn't that just copy the parts of the video and audio that I want from the original? Has anyone else had this problem? I'm trying to edit video that is 720x480, and compressed with the DV codec, so the original video file is about 3.7 gigs. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it Thanks.

  2. Using VirtualDub Mp3 Freez3 or NanDub might help to fix your problems. You can dl these warez in the tools section or in doom9.org

Just so people don't get confused....those aren't actually "warez", they're free programs.

  5. Just a quick question for everyone.

I am trying to edit out ads and stuff from an avi file using Virtual dub.

I don't want to edit the video in any way just cut out the ads and unwanted bits.

Does that mean that under the video and audio tabs I should choose "Direct Stream Copy"?

    Any help would be appreciated.
