  1. I've recently run into a problem. As the header says, I have a DRU 500AX and I'm using the latest version of Nero. I was trying to burn some image files to Memorex 4x 80 Minute 700MB discs and keep getting errors.

Basically, it errors out and says "No Seek Complete" "Burn process failed at 4x 600Kb/s" In addition, any attempt to erase the CD-RW results in an erasure failure.

I'm trying to narrow down to the source and was wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this. At this point it could be the drive, the software, or just the media. I'm leaning toward the drive having trouble with CD-RW's because I was able to write to an 80 Minute Maxell Music CD-R yesterday.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

Also using Nero w/ latest update.

Ditto for the Memorex problem in the 500AX. I've successfully burned media labeled as Sony, Verbatim, Pioneer and Ritek with no problems on this drive.

  4. Thanks guys...however, I just wanted to confirm that you're talking about CD-RW's as well because I know you mentioned Memorex DVD's when it is the CD-RW's that I seemed to be having trouble with. My Memorex DVD's worked fine so far.

  5. I have a similar problem with sony dru500a with latest firmware 2.0e...When i try to burn an oversize 80m disk i receive an error. The only way to burn an oversize cd is to set disk-at-once-96 method (with other the master camnnot start!!!), but at the end of burnig i still receive an error message but the disk seems to work...I think is a prolem of nero burning or is the firmware...
