    I just started using the huffyuv codec in VDUB to record to .avi.

    I noticed on a VCD I cut from that has a letterbox 'look' to it, but the black border on the top and bottom are very small compared to an actual letterbox.

    I've tested this on different set-top players and PowerDVD and I see the same thing.

    I checked the original file and it also has the border on top and bottom.

    Letterboxing is not something the codec can introduce, at least in my experience.

    Check the capture frame size and also the cropping settings in VDUB.
    The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
