    Hi ppl!

I have an annoying Divx/ac3 playing problem in WMP 9:

Avi(DivX) with ac3 sound won´t play in WMP 9. WMP 9 reports an error in AppName: wmplayer.exe, AppVer 9.0.0.2980 and ModName: ac3audio.ax, ModVer: 2.2.0.0, Offset: 0001121d (if these are of any help) This error report follows a total program crash and WMP 9 shuts down.

Have different codecs installed (XviD, DivX 3.11, 4, 5,) and video + audio work fine while playing these. Tried installing Nemo 433, Nemo Pack 5 Build7 and some other AC3 audio upgrades but always the same error report and crash! Even tryed playing in Bsplayer but same error report and crash occures.

I use Windows XP and uppgraded recently to WMP 9.00.00.2980
Can anyone please give me an answer to what is causing this problem and how I can watch avi with ac3?!?!?!

    Thn

You have some mutually exclusive things installed. How things work depend on the order they were installed. Generally speaking, try installing codecs AFTER you install WMP9 (I bet your DivX3's are broken now). You can try re-installing the AC3 codec over in the d/l section. You can also re-format your harddrive and re-install the OS to remove WMP9.

  3. Dude, I don't know if you're still having this problem or already have it corrected ... this also goes to anyone with this problem....

This is for many of you that play movies in xvid/divx/avi format that has ac3 as audio. if you want to keep your current wmp8/9 as your default xvid/divx/avi player but there is no sound because the audio is in ac3, then download this file and you will be able to play AC3 in wmp8/9. I have WMClassic installed too since i installed Real Alternative 1.04 and use that as my xvid/divx/avo default player for xvid movies. it plays fine with movies having AC3 as audio.

I know many of you will say bplayer or wmclassic will play your xvid/divx/avi movies with ac3 already, but *I* want to play the movies in wmp9 ALSO ( i have xp and wmp9) because i have DFX6.4 installed and dfx doesn't work with win media classic. After downloading this small program, I can now play with wmp9 and have AC3 as my audio... pretty cool.... I'm not guarantee that it will work but after many search on the internet, i found this method effect for my comp (xp pro and wmp9). there are other methods but most doesn't work since there are users complaining and stuff... but this one worked for me.

this small freeware codec might work for you...

    try this version first:
    h**p//users.skynet.be/bk159640/OdioDec1.23.zip

if that doesn't work, try the newer one v1.25 located here:
    h**p//www.moonlight.co.il/download/
    choose Odio Dekoda

at first, i downloaded the newer version but it didn't work. then i installed the older version 1.23 and IT WORK!!

    Hi all,
Recently I have installed the Win XP x64. I found one super annoying issue with WMplayer 10. I've installed the Divx, Xvid, AC3 filter and DFX... I got the 5.1 sound but when I turn on the DFX, the sound will become very noisy.... I tried to uninstalled all the codec and reinstalled them again.. it's still the same... even I reinstalled the windows.... not sure if anything do with my Audigy1 sound card too? Anyone can help?
    Thanks!!!
