Which to keep??

I'm getting a Sony DRU500 and was wondering what I should keep. My DVD or my CD writer? How fast will the Sony rip?

2x and locked from what I can tell. For ripping I would suggest getting a LiteON LTD 133 or LTD 166 DVD drive which are fast (I get as high as 15.5x for single layer DVD's and an average of around 7x for dual layer).
