    MSI DVD-ROM (MS-8216)

Right I am trying to burn a backup of a movie and I am a bit puzzled as to the problem.

This is what I am doing:
    1. Open RecordNow Max
    2. Load up Disc to Disc copy
    3. Put backup in my MSI DVD-ROM (MS-8216)
    4. Put blank Disc in Pioneer A05
    5. Start ripping backup from my MSI DVD-ROM (MS-8216)
    6. After ripped auto-burns in the Pioneer A05
    7. At any random time there will be an error (Not sure of the error, Just a load of codes)

    Now if I do this:
    1. Open RecordNow Max
    2. Load up Disc to Disc copy
    3. Put backup in my Pioneer A05
    4. Start ripping backup from my Pioneer A05
    5. Put blank Disc in Pioneer A05
    6. Disc finishes burning (Never had a problem)

So does anyone have any idea's on what the problem maybe?

The only reason I am using my MSI DVD-ROM (MS-8216) to rip is because it rips a movie in 7 mins and the pioneer rips in 30+ mins

    interesting problem.

The other day I copied a backed up DVD, as I had written it out to +RW first to test, to a -R.
I opened RecordNow Max, put the +RW I put in my LiteOn DVD ROM, the
-R in my Sony DRX-500UL, copied to hard drive first, then burnt to disk and it went off without a hitch.

Have you tried ripping it with DVD Decryptor instead of using Max to your HD, and then just burning that to DVD?
    Use what works for you...
