Mpeg2Dec or Mpeg2Dec3

Ive seen this alternative Mpeg2Dec3 as opposed to using Mpeg2Dec and just wondered what the differance is ?

Ive been using Mpeg2Dec or ages now in my avisynth scripts for encoding Mpeg 2 files, And i'm more than very pleased with the results

So does any one know what this one does that the other one doesn't, Is it better and does it have any other features ?

mpeg2dec3 is for use with avisynth 2.5x which is still in beta stage. It allows for use of the YV12 color space and is even faster than using YUY2. But I think you get the most speed gain when going to DivX because cce only accpets YUY2 and RGB and tmpg only RGB, but the filters work a little faster in YV12.

Ok got it thanks, I'm sticking with 2.08 for now so if thats the only difference then i guess i'll stay with Mpeg2Dec
