hello everyone,
hopefully someone can help me with a little problem i'm having.
after ripping a movie i decided to encode it using Tmpgenc, the resulting quality was ok but i decided to try and make it alittle bit sharper, the thing is that i don't like the results that i get with the filters in tmpgenc.i decided to try virtualdubmod i chose the sharpen plug in abd the used file-->preview but after that i dont know how to save the results,if anyone can shed some light my way i'll really appreciate it.
thanx in advance
p.sorry if it's a dumb question but i don't use it virtualdub a lot.

Select your codec, then select File-->Save As AVI. However, if you plan on using the resultant video for an (S)VCD, you should learn how to frameserve your filtered video to TMPGEnc. Then let TMPGEnc encode it to the (S)VCD format. You resultant file will have the filters from Virtual Dub, and the format from TMPGEnc. Sounds like the proverbial best of both worlds.
Hello. -
thanks for the help tommyknocker!!
but i was hoping there was a way to apply the filters without having to reencode to .avi.
maybe i wasn't very helpful in the details that i provided so i'll try again.
i have my file ready to be burned to a (S)VCD in .mpg format but i was trying to use the filters in virtualdubmod to enhance the image.is there a way to use the filters in virtualdubmod without changing the format? -
When you frameserve, you do not encode to AVI. You send the data directly to TMPGEnc in this case. The video goes from MPEG to MPEG, it never gets saved to AVI in frameserving.
