  1. I have a movie file in avi format.
The video is Xvid and the audio is AC3
I have the codec installed and I can play the movie on my PC no bother.
I tried to load the movie into Vdub to save out the audio.
    I loaded it the used:
    Audio>Full Processing mode
    Audio>No Compression
    File>Save Wav
Entered a name for the wav file but when I pressed enter I received the error message: No Audio Decompressor could be found to decompress source audio.
When I opened this file in Gspot it revealed the following:
    Video: Xvid Codec is Installed
Audio: AC3(0 * 2000) Dolby Labs Codec is Installed.
When I looked into Audio Details it reported: Gspot has found Moonlight Odio Dekoda.
I was wondering if anyone can point out what the problem is.
    Thanks a lot.

you cant decompress the ac3 with vdub.
Dierct stream copy the sound to sound.ac3.wav
rename the file after to sound.ac3
decompress it to wav, mp2 ehatever with headac3he or some azid sw.
Anyone tired of his old DVD burner? Why put it into the trash? Contact me! :))))

Use direct stream copy. rename the file to whatever.ac3. You may need to correct it with ac3fix.exe (TOOLS section). Then you can convert to wav with Headac3he.
