why is it when i dvd2vcd it takes so long to convert a divx file (which is using tmpge ) as appossed to using just tmpge? the problem im also having is audio sync problems when i just use tmpge

DVD2SVCD is a front end program that runs several other programs for you. The seperate audio encoding, video encoding, and muxing could be why it's takes longer to run than running TMPGenc alone. For DivX files I would just use TMPGenc alone. As the name implies DVD2SVCD is really to make live easier for newbies that want to back up DVDs.
The audio sync could be caused by several things. More than likely the bbMPEG muxing script as 'an error' of some kind.
