  1. I have this player, the daewoo 5000n which will play anything. However, I noticed that movies tended to play darker with more red in some areas. Not very bad.....but then again, who wants to adjust the TV to be brighter.

I then purchased a Koss portable 2161 with same svideo outputs.....BOOMMMMM.....this thing is a lot brighter.

I assume all DVD players are not created equal. Anyone have this problem with DVD players that play too dark?

Any DVD players you would not buy because they play too dark.

    thanks

never seen one play to dark how are you hooking it to the tv?
I have 2 daewoo's a DVD-5700 and a DV6T811N both play everything I've made without any problems. Also just recently purchased a Toshiba with the same results as the Daewoo.

  3. Its not dark dark.....but the koss appears to have better contrast. Maybe its just that the koss is brighter rather than the daewoo being darker.

Anyway, the advantage of the Koss is that it handles 23.976 3:2 pulldown better than the daewoo because I get less fast motion on some scenes.

daewoo is good......but I think there better dvd...

    hookup same on both units.....
