Okay, I hope someone somewhere can help me with this problem. I am currently captureing Seinfeld episodes, I capture at 720 X 480...I then edit out the commercials with Vdub and frame serve to TMPG with my bitrate 2000-3000-5000 2 pass VBR. The problem I am running into is when I play back my finish project on my stand alone DVD player it looks like good quality buy when there is any motion scenes it is almost as if it is in slow motion. The audio is fine and everything else is fine but when the picture scans or has any quick movement it's not as smooth as it should be. Can anyone explain why, or what I can do to change this? It's starting to piss me off. Also, when I edit with Vdub I do make sure that I have Deinterlace filter on. Someone help me....
Thanks,

I have been doing similar things and am still looking for the perfect solution. In TMPGE, there is an option under Quantive Matrix(or some tab like that) and a check box for 'soften block noise'. You can try checking that and uping the rates to about 50 a piece.
I assume each file comes to about 22 minutes in length since Seinfeld is a 30 minute show. How large in size is the file you get to burn to disc? Or basically how much total time are you trying to put on a disc. You might be trying to just jam too much onto one disc which I've done as well and have sacrificed extra discs and have gotten much better quality. -
To determine whether its TMPGenc or the capturing that makes these problems, rather than frameserve to tmpg, make an avi video, and watch that on your pc. If it has the same probs, its to do with capturing.
Check the fps you sre capturing at.
