I have an internetal SONY DRU500 DVD re-writer, and a Yamaha cd-writer. When using NERO I can see and write to both drives. MY COMPUTER can also see both drives and I can read from them no problem.
Problem is DVD Movie Maker or RecordNow can NOT see the drives at all. Ive tried rescanning the buses but no look. Ive tried unistalling NERO but still no look.
Ive updated my ASPI (correct?) and still no look. Any ideas?
Im sure that it DVD Movie Maker did once detect my drive, so obviusly something has been installed that DVD MM & RecordNow dont like??
Help please, otherwise im thinking of formatting my drive and starting again!
thanks

Do you have the latest version of RecordNow? You need a version that supports your writer.
MrSnakeSony DRU-500A v1.0d
Toshiba SD-M1302 v1006
Philips DVDR885P v1.7/8 -
i think I have version 4.0 I'll check. I take it their website says which version is for which drive??
Thing is though DVD Factory/MovieMaker wont pick the drive up either! Yet it did last month when I last used it. Thats why im wondering if I've over written something? -
Also if you O/S is XP, I've seen problems with XP's internal burning capabilities that can do that.
Are you using XP?"Signature"......
I use a Dazzle capturing system that Only lets me capture into Mpeg. So that is all I work with. I never do any DV/AVI video..... -
im using Windows 2000. Ive since read that only version 4.5 & higher recognise the SONY drive...
But that doesnt explain why DVD Moviemaker could see my drive last month, but when ive gone to use it now it cant see it..
the mystery continues! -
