    i get a weird popup on my computer about 3 times a day saying it is a "messenger service". it always advertises something and pops up like a grey classic grey window. i hit ctrl,alt,dlt and choose show process and it says crss.exe and its listed under system. when i try to end process it says its a critical system file and cant and when i search i cant find it!!!
    anyone know how i can find and delete it?

    If you have windows XP there is a function that allows network admins to send you a message through a msgbox, but also anyone who has your IP can send you one. I think the service is called "Windows Messenger" disable the service and it should stop it. Many spammers know of this feature and now do mass spamming using a IP scanner.
