Has anybody got his machine?
If so, can this machine play XVCDs and other relaxed MPEG-1 formats.
I've checked the DVD Players list and it doesn't say.
I had a Pioneer DV-636D, an excellent DVD player, but I also wanted to play my home made VCDs, which for some reason it didn't.
All the VCDs I created were recognised by Nero5.5,WinOnCD3.8, Adaptec Video CD Creator 4 as 100% VCD compliant files, but I never got any video, just a 4 second looped soundtrack.
Any other capabilities/cons of the DV-545 I should know about would also be helpful.
Cheers
MR MO

I saw in DVD Players list that your unit accepts all layer.
Did you try TMPGenc software to make VCD?
