  1. Ok, I had to reformat the computer. Fun right?

Well, before, I had always had problems converting ASF/WMV to MPG until I installed Nimo. Then it all worked smoothly.

But tonight I finally installed all my video editing software and put in Nimo, etc. So I reboot, start up TMPGEnc, load up a WMV file and it freaks out saying it's not supported.

I try again and look down at the taskbar and the video icon for Nimo loads, but the audio icon won't and then the video one flashes and goes away. Then I get a popup error saying the file is unspoorted or can't be opened.

I even tried loading it into VirtualDub 1.3 but no luck there either.

    What's going on with it?

  2. I've said it many times before, NIMO is a trouble maker codec pack. causes
nothing but trouble in 99% of the PC's it was installed on! I strongly suggest
    you avoid it, uninstall it!

  3. Thanks, it working for the files now except one, but I think it's a problem with that specific file. We'll see...LOL.

  4. I Suggest you get a program called GSpot v2.1 it will identify which codecs
are being used by your file, and that way you can figure out how to encode it

  5. When I load it into GSpot, it gives me absolutely no specs at all, just "n/a", except that it's an invalid media type and "video/x-ms-asf" in the Type box. Yet the file plays fine.

  6. Then it is possible the file has alot of defects in it, which Media Player can
handle, while TMPGEnc or something else, can't, not to mention it is an ASF
file type, which makes it complicated to open up.
