i just go the movie Ditto and it is an AC3 file
i opened it on TMPG to convert and it didn't have the wav file in the project wizard
so i used virtual dub and when i did
a warning thing pops up and says
The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format.

Extract the audio with virtualdub using direct stream copy mode, then rename the extension to .ac3
Then use Besweet to convert the ac3 audio to WAV audio....you will then be able to use it as the audio source in TMPGenc. It sounds a lot of work but its the only way you can encode a movie with ac3 audio. -
And make sure you have the AC3 codec, you can test it with Gspot if you're not sure. It's in the Tools section.
