Divx to Vcd(mpg) convertion problem!!

I downloaded a 90 minutes .divx movie, but only the divx player can read it, the others, like Tmpg are very crappy. Dvdrhelp said to download divx codec 3.11 + codec 4 or 5 , that what i've done, it works, but only for the first 20 minutes, after it restart to be very crappy like at the beginning: the audio is ok, but tnot the video.
What should I do?
