Hello, this might sound as a stupid question, but then, enlight me and tell me the truth

When ripping a movie, say it's 2 hours, and you wanna use the 2pass vbr bitrate calculator, how can it work?

Since the bitrate is dependent on the amount of action in a movie when using VBR, how can the calculator give a correct answer, unless it's a 2 hour movie with very little motion or a 2 hour action movie?

Just wanna know. How does it work? (I mean, if you wanna have good quality on the action movie.. )

calculate the average bitrate, select min and max as you like.

What? If I use the calculator, it says average bitrate is... perhaps 1400 kbps and max is 2560. Shouldn't the mininum be set to 0 then?

I mean if you wanna make sure that a 2 hrs movie fit on 2cd's.. I really don't get your answer.

You have a 120 min movie and want to fit it on 2 80min CDs, then the avg bitrate is 1564 (audio 224). The max rate 2496 is set by default because of the SVCD specs, but you can change it if you like and your dvd player can handle that high bitrates.
Once again, the calculation depends on the average bitrate only.
