    Hello
    I am a completely newbie at this. I would like to start ripping dvds to svcd. I want the quality to be good (almost as dvd) and I want the sound to be 5.1, can someone with experience guide me? I have icq: 113712531
    I would really apriciate some help.

    go to http://www.doom9.org and get dvd2svcd along with CCE (not the trial version like I did), and a bitrate calculator (the easiest to use is on this site). once you have all that, it does everything for you.

    but isn't it so that i get a watermark in the bottom of the movie? I wouldn't like that at all

    You are getting the watermark because you are using the TRIAL VERSION.

    Also, you cannot get 5.1 digital audio on a VCD or SVCD and expect it to work.
