Help! Need DVD authoring software that will create easy menus and convert mpgs to vob without re-encoding them.
I want to put several movies onto one DVDR. Some are mpeg1, some are mpeg2. None have the same bit rate. I have tried Ulead DVD Workshop and Moviemaker, Nero, Sonic MyDVD and SpruceUP. All want to re-encode my mpgs so that the'll all be the same. (With the exception of SpruceUP.) I'm happy with SpruceUP, but some mpegs it just won't take.
Any others?

DVD Workshop has two options to use the given MPEG streams without re-encoding them. If you check them, the given MPEG streams will be used without re-encoding.
However, for this to happen, your MPEG-2 streams must be VALID DVD streams. If they are not, they will not be accepted. To produce valid DVD streams (e.g. with Tmpgenc), you must use the correct settings (there are several). Tmpgenc has a DVD template both for PAL and NTSC and in the guides section you will find an excelent guide on how to produce DVD MPEG streams with Tmpgenc (explains the settings and the why's and how's).
Post back if you continue having problems. The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
