Howdy
I have just installed XP Pro and was trying to locate in the Device Manager my Video Card (ATI 9000 64mb) and also what type of memory I have ie DDR 2700 333 etc
Shld these items not be listed in Device manager?
I am simply trying to play DVD's using PowerDVD XP but error messages i keep getting are to reduce res 800x600 also to reduce refresh rates from 75hz. I have done all that!
"DDraw Overlay mode" is another suggestion from this software but I have no idea what that is!
Thanx

Yes you should see the card details in device manager under the 'Display Adapters' section - it sounds like you are running with the default generic windows video drivers - you will need to install the ATI drivers.
Try using the Install New Hardware wizard and see if it auto detects your card (I have XP Pro but I didn't see your model in the default list).
If that doesn't work then manually install the driver, it should have been supplied on floppy or CD when you purchased the Laptop, else download it from the Internet.
