  1. I have a .avi file I'm trying to convert to mpeg using tmpg. Everytime I convert it the video doesn't have any sound. I've loaded the file in gspot and it says that I have all of the encoders. How do I get the sound to work as an mpeg file? Gspot says the audio is in a .asf format. Please help. Thanks

ASF format? I've never run into that one. Try extracting your audio with VirtualDub. Set the AUDIO option to "Full Processing" mode. Select FILE | SAVE WAV. You should be prompted to supply a filename. Just give it a .WAV extension (example: extract.wav ). Plug that WAV file into TMPGenc as your audio source.

  5. hi!

you might want to convert the audio using graph-edit.
    afaik. ASF is a container-format, not a stream-format.
    however.
what i know for sure is that it's an microsoft-thingie.

  7. dude i wrote a doc explaing how to create a vcd of a movie on 1 cd

    www.data-uca.150m.com/vcdencoding.doc

hopefully it will help if not let me know
as this is the easiest methid ive found to encode

what you might be getting in vdub when you load up the avi is "blah blah is a lttle outand might creat sync problems blah blah", thats becuase the avi has to be decompressed 1st

read me doc, it explains it better there

You should also get the latest version of VirtualDub (1.4.13 I think).

is't hard to explain but not really that hard to do.
