  1. Which is better? DVD95Copy looks good but I have been using InstantCopy for a while with good results. InstantCopy could make the dvd images larger than 3.99gb and give me some more quality though.

  2. It isn't exactly backing up episodic DVDs, but I use DVD2SVCD. I did the first 3 seasons of the Sopranos that way, 1 episode per CD-R. I gotta tell you, they came out great looking. You have to figure, they were putting 3-4 one-hour episodes on one DVD, so the bitrate was lower than the typical DVD bitrate. I don't know what the before and after bitrates were, but I notice no pixelation in my vids. I was able to retain the chapters. And I saved the images and cuesheets for easy reproduction and uhm redistribution

  3. That DOES NOT ANSWER my question.

  4. No, it doesn't, I was merely offering another suggestion.

  5. THANKS for your suggestion but it's not for this forum. You sees, if I copy the DVDs I will keep the 5.1 surround sound and have really good video quality and 4 episodes on 1 disc. If I turn around and turn the dvd episodes into crap svcds then I will have 4 cds to swap, no surround sound, and crap svcd quality.

But... does InstantCrap or DVD95Crap copy dvds better?

    THATS THE QUESTION

  6. For copying episodic DVDs, I would have to give the nod to DVD95Copy using the "Compress Everything Equally" option. I own both, I mainly use DVD95Copy.

I think the next version of DVD95Copy is going to really step it up in the game with the ability to remove extras, etc. It's quite a handy feature to have.

  9. I backed up an X-Files season disc with IC --> quality was better than DVD2One (which I was using for episodic discs), but the menu VOB file is all pixelated and 7/8 of screen is all GREEN..

I am currently re-doing with DVD95Copy and DVD2One (again) just for comparison purposes.. will let you know.. after a quick small video test sample between 95Copy and 2One, seems 95Copy has the edge so far.. we'll see..

BTW, anyone know what's up with that 'green' stuff above w/IC7 ?
