  1. Yes, I am a newbie. There, I said it. Now on to the question.

I am wanting to try out making a VCD and I am having some difficulty. I have a MPEG file that is approximately 45 minutes long. I have played it on my PC using Windows Media Player and it plays fine and looks and sounds OK. I have tried downloading the ULead MovieFactory 2 Trial to make a VCD out of this. I have run through the VCD creatiion wizard and it appears to work fine. I take the VCD and put it in my DVD player and it starts off great with opening menu, background image, opening music, etc. I start playing the VCD and it looks and sounds fine. I fast forward to about half way through the video and the video and sound are now out of sync. They are in sync on the original MPEG.
I came back and used the instructions from 'How to convert to VCD with TMPGEnc' on this web site to create a new MPEG. I played it back using Windows Media Player and it looks and sounds fine. I then ran this through MovieFactory and received the same out of sync VCD when playing it back on my DVD player. I pulled the .DAT file off of the VCD on to my hard drive and played it using Windows Media Player and it is out of sync. It seems that MovieFactory is modifying the MPEG and creating a sync issue.

Is this where I should be asking about this or should I be sending this to ULead?

    Thanks

  4. Hi,

I searched the Ulead site and didn't discover any patch related to the sync problem. ft123 give us a hint.

    Thanx

  5. I tested a bit. I discovered that my sync problem is already in the captured AVI-file. Captured with Studio 7.
