  1. Hello,

When I burn my mpeg files as VCDs, I also burn another CD as "data". I do that as a back-up if something hapens to my VCD or if any of my friends wants to have a copy.

Could anyone tell me, can I extract the mpeg from burned VCD without wasting too much time? I don't mind to burn another CD for mpeg file, if that VCD-to-mpeg process is a few hours.

    Thanks.

Search around for DVD Copy X (OS X)

There is not classic way to do this that I am aware of.

Why would one use a program called DVDCopyX to copy rip an MPEG out of a VCD? Isn't that what VCDGear is for?

    depends on your usage.

And at one point, pre OS 8.6 I remember SPECFICALLY being able to copy VCD .dat files to the hard drive by way of the Finder.

Why did this change? Does anyone else have feedback on why OS 8.5 and earlier was able to perform .dat file copies to the HD off a VCD?

What would be the problem with using toast for a DISC to DISC copy? (with the warning that It will take a long time if you only have one optical drive)
