the 'pros' have been doing that for a while, but using IC for extras and then using CCE for main movie or other means and only now you have the option of having DVD2One,DVD95Copy,IC for extras and CCE/IC for main movie

myself I prefer using DVD95Copy for the menu/extras as it's the best at reduction and IC for the main movie as it can handle Multiple PGC's with a breeze whereas CCE can't (but it's possible)

and using this I find I'm always setting the main movie up in the high 80's % so unless you are Superman and have the ability to watch the movie in PAUSE/ZOOM mode while it's actually playing you cannot tell the difference between a CCE/IC conversion at those high % settings , so why bother fussing about using CCE when IC does the job with a few clicks

I'm gonna do a guide for merging the two, but there are already guides out there for the other 'hybrids'

  2. Outsize to 4350 instead of 4480:

I am doing this to leave space on the edge of the disk to avoid playback problems. There is 2 reasons for this:

    1. Most people grab dvd by the edges, and dvd`s get dirty on the edges on both sides.
    2. Some burners/media combinations results in playback problems near the edges. For example, the pioneer A05 with firmware 1.0 and 1.21 has know problems with some cheap medias.

I am using Ritek G03 with A05 burner and this combination works great if you leave a bit of unused spaces on the edge.

About quality: I am very satisfy with dvd2one so far and its much faster than InstantCopy so I am sticking with it. But its nice to know we have 3 choices right now.

    1. don't let most people touch your backups, if they do then they will also grab elsewhere anyway (if they are kids try to teach them the way to do it)
    2. get better media, I have A05 and use cheapy FWS media (G04) and have checked quality of burn using Nero DVDSpeed after burn and I'm well impressed by results as the curve is perfect, bit like this one I actually took a snapshot of, so I get that media all the time now

I would rather loose more quality than throw away 10% of the new ritek discs I got that are freezing in the end of a full disc
Try creating an image file in Nero and then burn the image.Your disk will not freeze at the end

  6. Go to tools and get the free program Smart Ripper. Rip the DVD to your harddrive. Then use DVD2ONE.
