  1. Hi

I have installed Instant Copy vserion 7 and tried to copy a dvd, and all goes well, I can preview the video and I have the display depth set to 32bit at 800x600. I remove the subtitles and a couple of audio streams and then try to transcode. However Instant copy hangs when testing video quality.

    Instant copy says

Progress : Testing video quality part 1 of 4(Phase 1/3)
    Status : Analyzing Main Menu

I tried installing the update patch, but this didnt help and with the update patch, I couldnt preview anymore, again it just hung the system.

    The system is

    AMD Athlon 2000
    512 Mb DDR ram
    160GB disk space
ATI rage 128 32mb AGP graphics board

so, the system is easily enough to run the proggy.

Someone please help me as I really wanna get this working.

    Thanx

    J

  2. instant copy freezes up alot for me as well i just let it go until it asks me to retry or close and start it over again eventually it works. I've also found that if i'm doing anything else such as burning other stuff it interferes and I have to restart so I just don't have any other programs open and leave it alone till it's done.

  3. There are apparently a number of titles that IC7 simply will not convert.

In my experience, it works extremely well for DVD-9s when the feature can be kept at low levels of compression (say about 80% or better) and the supplementals can be crunched down (50-60%) or eliminated.

For very long features, it seems to be hit-and-miss. Titanic and LOTR, which require much more compression (50-60%) crash IC consistently during conversion on my system (the dreaded transcopy.exe memory allocation error). OTOH, Godfather III converted with no problem.

My system: ECS K7 Athlon 1800+, 256MB DDR, XP Pro SR-1, GeForce 2

Just a suggestion, I have found if you set the menu quality to 100% it may help on troublesome titles. One title that this made the difference was LOTR as mentioned above. I made numerous attempts to copy and finally I recalibrated menu quality to 100% and IC7 trans-coded title as normal. Also noteworthy LOTR has an unpredictable size outcome I was forced to lower overall size to 4.57 rather than the normally setting I use 4.60 to clear the maximum limitations threshold <4 700 000 000bytes> or <4.37GB>.
