  1. I have several Divx and Xvid movies that i am tryin to put on to dvd-r but i'm having major problems are i'm just getting more stupid any help would be most appriciated. here is a run down of what i have done to clear things up with what i've done.

    Current hardware:

    LG GMA-4020B

Standalone players that i know play dvd-r backups:

LG dvd-2280p firware update for multi region, Bush dvd2009 bought as multi region, PS2, and 3 PC DVD-ROM's

    Original movie is 23.976 fps

step 1 I extracted the audio using VDub to a uncomppresed wav file

step 2 I used TMPGEnc to covert the AVI and the WAV file to an MPG file following the guide on this site

step 3 I de-multipleked the MPG file to get a seperate video and audio file

step 4 i used IFOEdit to author these to files to a seperate VIDEO_TS folder

step 5 I burnt this floder and it's content with Nero version 5.5.9.17 using DVD-Rom (UDF) and setting the file system version to UDF 1.02 as i read that this has move compatability with older DVD's

when i came to play the DVD-R backup it would just stop in the player and not go any further in the Bush DVD the audio was out of sync but on the PC it was fine. I have used ULEAD dvd movie factory 2 and added the MPG file and let that convert and author but this had no sound and would not even recognize on the dvd players. have i missed a vital part out or is there a fool proof way i can do this process (as i feel like a fool at the moment) thanx in advance for the help Liquidant

  2. take a shot at using DVD2SVCD. It allows avi (DIVX) files and does most of the configuring for you. That should help in ruling out human error.

  3. Have you tried another version of Nero? Nero changed the DVD compliance structure a bit. Try to use a lower version of Nero. This happened to me when I upgraded from .14 to .17. The newer version did not work on my Apex. Have you tried playing it on your PC (if you have a dvd Rom)? It should work if it is a nero problem.

  4. thanx for the advice much apreciated. i think you might be right with the nero version problems. I noticed that the file system was not quite right this is how it was burnt

    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VTS_01_O.IFO
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_01_3.VOB
    VTS_01_4.VOB
    VTS_01_0.BUP

But on a DVD-R i have that works on the stand alone and the ps2 the structure was diffrent the last .BUP file seems to be in the wrong place am i right in saying this is wrong or am i looking in the wrong direction
