  1. I have an xvid file that I eventually want to get to vcd, but everything i try to open it with says I need a codec for it, I went and got the codec and installed it and can play the video in windows but vdub or tmpge wont recognize it. So read a couple post about using fourcc to convert it but it only gives me 4 choices none of which I know and only one lets it open in vdub but its just a green line with sound.

So what the easy way I can get this xvid to something I can open with vdub to extract the sound. then on to mpg then vcd?

Hope im clear on my question
