  1. I tried to make a backup of U-571. When looking at the orignal disc the main movie is divided over VTS_07_*.VOB and VTS_08_*.VOB. I Tried several programs including DVDXCopy and DVDBot but they all think that VTS_08_* contains the main movie.
I used DVDDecrypter to put both vobs on my harddisk and renamed the vobs to VTS_01_*. After that I used DVD2One to make a backup. When I played the backup it showed the movie but the subtitles (dutch) were unreadable. Only the outline of the subtitles were shown and the color was green. Does anyone have an idea?

I would rather make a two disc backup including the extra's. Is it possible to make a two disc backup just by copying VTS_07_* (with some extra's) to disc one and VTS_08_* (with some other extra's) to disc two? Is copying the menu on both discs enough. How do I make sure that on disc two VTS_08_* start playing when I select play movie on the menu?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards Babachan.

I have done a movie like this, Brotherhood of wolves, where the main feature is split over two Titles on both layers.

SmartRipper allowed me to extract the main movie (more than 2 hours) on a single VOB that can be further ripped or converted.

You need to go to Settings and select a single VOB to be created and set the max file size to something big (e.g. 9000). You also need to have an NTFS drive to be able to create a file larger than 4Gb
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
