  1. I just updated tmpegenc to 2.59.47.155 and it is a definte step up for the old version but I cant get the audio from the avi to load up in audio source box ...when I load up the avi in the video source box it loads fine but does not load up in the audio source box like it normally does...when i click the audio source box to load the avi manually it says "can not open or unsupported"...I have never really had a problem with any of my converters and I have tried playing with the environmental settings but no dice......so when i go to convert it converts damn good but just with no audio...any tips?????

    thanks to all that reply!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Have you tried extracting the audio to a wav with virtualdub and then putting them back together in TMPGeng? This is what you should be doing anyway.. also give us the audio information that virtualdub reports.

  3. Hmm maybe I should go through that in more detail. First open virtualDUB then go to

    File > Open Video File.

Open the file that you want to extract the sound from

Click Audio > full processing mode

Then click Audio > conversion and select 44100hz and check the 'high quality' check box

Then click File > Save WAV and select the path you want the WAV to be saved at.

Load this wav in TMPGenc's Audio box. If VirtualDUB gives you the same kind of error that TMPGenc does when dealing with the audio you must not have the correct codec. If this is the case go to (in virtualDUB) File > File Information and tell us what is says for audio. Or try downloading and installing the NIMO codec pack (v5 build 8 ) and doing a full install of it.

  4. I have had that problem in the past. Saving the wav file, sometimes, not always, has caused me audio/video sync problems.

what I tried and worked was using VCDgear and converted the mpg to mpg.

It is also possible you don't have all the codecs.
