A friend recently tried dvd x copy and from what I saw, it kills off
    widescreen format.

is there any way around this issue?

  2. Never seen that and I have used the program a good 50 times. My guess you had a DVD that had both wide and pan & scan on the same disc.

  3. I had DXC do that to 'Top Gun'. The movie (I assume) was anamorphic so that you could select either WS or FS...when DXC copied the movie, it chose only to include the FS version

That's only ONE reason I don't use DXC anymore...

That's why I simply play the first set of files to see if it's wide or full screen. DVDX will only select the first set of files for the first disc so if you want the second set of files you simply tell DVDX to skip the first disc.

  5. I use the Beta version of DXC and have completemanual contorl over what I want to burn, Top Gun looks great in widescreen from using DXC.
But DXC will not burn the 16x9 code for widescreen TV's, you must downsize after its copied all the files use recordnow DX to burn it and the 16x9 presentation stays in tact. Don't use NERO it looses the 16x9 code also.

  6. I have never had a copy made with DVDX Copy that didn't play and look exactly like the original and that includes wide screen on my 48 inch wide screen TV.
