    I have this movie its in mpg format but with 480x480 resolution, and I want to make VCD out of it because my DVD Player doen't support SVCDs. I wanted to know if there is some freeware software just like TMPGEnc that will let me work with mpg files.

    Actually you can't open MPEG2 files in TMPGenc Take alook at under the tools section, you want to get the TMPGenc MPEG2 plugin:

    I did everything you told me and it worked but only for the video part. Now I can't import the same mpg file as an audio source. Also is there any way that I can open mpg files in VirtualDub.
