I've seen advice here and in other forums that when you've got a properly-authored DVD, and drag the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to Toast, you should delete the .DS_Store and any other files that appear. Every time I try this, the burn fails eventually. Projects burn just fine if I leave the disc structure alone. I haven't had a problem with my set-top boxes reading DVD's *with* .DS_Store, Desktop DB and Desktop DF invisible files, but am I headed for trouble i f I keep leaving them in?

    Thanks!

Under toast, you need to select DVD under the OTHER tab.

I am not sure if this will create a .DS_Store file or not.

Another option is to double click on the Disc in toast, and check the box USE EMPTY DESKTOP DATABASE.

My player does just fine with the files there, and your should too...

    Hope this helps.

Yes, it does. I will continue to leave the files inplace, and stop stressing. After all, lots of commercial DVD's have Windows-only .EXE files at the root level, and that doesn't have a negative impact on playability either. Thanks!!!
