  1. Hi,

I've had a search for this but can find no direct answer.

I have a mono Viewcam. If I extract the audio and convert it to stereo in another prog and then re-save, am I losing quality in the final AVI? Would I be better off for quality just to leave it mono? Clearly, I want the best SVCD at the end of the process, the stereo would only be a nice bonus if the quality was unaffected by the re-save.

    Many thanks.

Once mono, always mono. Converting to stereo games you nothing but doubling your audio bandwidth. However, SVCD needs to be stereo (joint stereo?). You shouldn't affect the audio quality with a mono to stereo conversion.

Do you mean just for quality or is there some tech spec requirement for a good SVCD burn?
