  1. i have a aver media tv card and im trying 2 capture a old vhs tape every time i capture it is like small squares in the picture im using the software that came with the tv card the video is on for about 1 hour and when i capture it it will not fit on to 1 cd vcd/svcd would i be better captureing it as a avi file then encoding it im using tmpeg encoder to encode them could someone tell me the best program to use to capture it and what setting to use and what tmpeg encoder settings i should use

    i have a amd 1.33 thunderbird processor
    512 of ddr ram
    g/force 4 graphics card with 128mb of ram
    and two hard drives 1 40 gb and 1 120 gb
    and im runing windows xp with sp1


    please help as this is doing my head in all this is all new to me so could some of you experts please help

    to do it simply just get a cheap capture card with connexant chipset on it 'nothing else comes close to quality for price then to keep it easy just use Windvd to capture direct ,its that easy

  4. my card has connexant chipset on it should a capture avi or mpeg the file as i said is 60 mins long and i want 2 fit that on 1 80 min disc vcd /svcd but every time i capture it good quality it wont fit on 1 disc and if i drop the quality i get like small squares in the picture if i use win dvd what settings do u think i should thanks very much for your replay
