MaestroSBT Font recommendations? [please]

Adding subtitles to some home movies. I wrote text scritps, timed them in SSA, then generated bitmaps with MaestroSBT to load into DVD Maestro. However, the fonts look terrible when played on my TV.

Tried a few different ones and various sizes but I must be missing a setting somewhere or something. Any recommendations for font/styles to use to generate 'good looking' subs? Thanks in advance

In MaestroSBT, click in Style button, and change the default.

Choose Arial, 24, bold, with outline "2" and color "yellow" or "wite"

save the style and edit for preview.

ps - this works only generate ssa from SRT.

if subtitles is a .SUB, then convert .SUB to .SRT and convert to .SSA.

Thanks I'll give it a try. I've got some old Japanese LDs and timed script files to go with them (my Japanese is only so-so). Normally I either print the script out and read along (study aid) or I can genlock the LDs and add the subtitles (ie. fansub).

But making a DVD with selectable subtitles in both English and Japanese would be ideal. That way i can read what's being said in japanese, and switch to english (maybe more sub track with both sub streams displayed).
