Is macrovision the same as CSS or is it different
are they both on dvd,s or is it one or the other if different

Hi Lion. Both systems (CSS and Macrovision) are usually present on commercial DVD's. The Macrovision works with analog systems--like VCR's--to prevent copying, and the CSS is to prevent digital copying. They are 2 different systems, you can get a bit more information in the glossary of this site (top left of the main screen). As you my know, if you are backing up your own DVD's, there are ways around these systems. Hope this helps.
