I've been running into problems burning DVD+R's so I thought I'd try Nero Vison Express. I loaded my TMPGE encoded MPEG 2 files with MPEG 2 layer 2 audio in the wizard and burned them. The video quality was great but there was no sound. Can anybody tell me why?

I suspect it might be because of the MPEG 2 Layer 2 audio but I'm not sure. I've searched the Ahead website FAQ's but no luck. If anybody can point me in the right direction I would sincerely appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Vanster.

Maybe the trial period from TMPGE has finished due to licensing restrictions??
After 30 days the MPEG2 encoder will be disabled or crippled.

    Just an idea.

FYI, I always demux audio and video. I only reencode the video stream and remux everything back together.

    MrSnake,

Thanks for the reply. I purchased TMPG so my MPEG 2 is just fine. After some more research I think it is because I encoded the audio to MPEG 2 layer 2.

I took that same video project and burned it with regular Nero and it turned out fine. I am not going to rack my brains over Nero Vision Express anymore. I will just use Nero.

Once again, thanks for the reply.

  4. If I remember correctly, there was a bug in Nero Express that pointed to the wrong kind of audio. I believe the fix was to open it up using ifoedit, and changing the audio line to LPCM instead of MPG2. I know it has been discussed previously here because I had the same problem and the suggested fix took care of it.

I gave up on it anyway and use Ulead's DVD MF2 now.
