First off, what are DVD 4/5? I'm unfamiliar with those terms. If I was you and you wanted a USB device, wait a bit and get the IDVD USB 2.0 device. Otherwise, you may have a lot of problems getting the USB 1.1 version to work right. You might also want to look into other devices from Canopus, Dazzle, etc. Sounds like you didn't do your homework before buying the device. Hope you can return it if necessary...

  3. I had an ADS IDVD for 6 months. It's the worst POS out there IMHO. Take it back while you still can and get a different capture device. The Hauppauge PVR-250 is a great choice for the money, and costs less too. If you intend on editing your DVD captures from the ADS IDVD, they will be out of sync once edited!

  4. I agree this is one of the worst cards on the market. Technical support is lacking and the software that comes with it leaves a lot to be desired. I had one that I sold in about 3 months. If I was going to purchase a card it would be the Canopus and I probably would go with the pci model.
