Hi,
Probably a stupid question, but I just started using CCE Basic and if I am resizing my video using Avisynth (352x480), do I still need to check the 'Half Horizontal' checkbox?
Thanks!

Hi batman0105! Firs off all read manual for programm. Second answer: 'Half Horizontal' decrease horizantal reolution by 2, but target number could be multiplier 16. If You have DVD content with 720 pixel in horizontal, this option will make not 360, but 352. This option may use for conversion DVD (720x576 PAL or 720x480 NTSC) to CVD (352x576 or 352x480). But better choice for this Avisynth frameserver.

Thanks for the reply Yury. I did "RTM" but felt that it was still somewhat misleading, which is why I posted here. Perhaps my question was not clear enough. I am already using Avisynth to resize the video to 352x480, my question was basically if I check the 'Half horizontal' box does it cut the res in half regardless of what the current res is or is it just another way of saying make it half d1 (352x480). According to CC the answer is the former, so my video would've ended up being 176x480. However, I appreciate you taking time to reply.

With the Half Horizontal box checked CCE will cut the horizontal resolution of the input video in half ie 352 x 480 becomes 176 x 480.

If Half horizontal resolution is selected, the encoder makes the
horizontal resolution half. Since the horizontal resolution must be a
multiple of 16, half of the original size 720 becomes not 360 but 352.
If Half vertical resolution is selected, the encoder makes the
vertical resolution half. By selecting this option and Half horizontal
resolution at the same time, frame size 720×480 will become 352× 240. -
