  1. does anybody know nay software to convert format vcd to mpg4?

    I assume you have a VCD and want to convert it to MPEG-4, meaning DivX.

    The VCD contains the video in a large .DAT file. Copy that file on the PC and rename it to .MPG.

    Use VirtualDUB to open the file and on video compression select DivX 5.02 (assuming you have installed it). Configure the compression to your like. One pass quality gives constant quality compression with Q=3 being quite good for VCD content. Alternativelly, you can go for 1 pass CBR, where you can select a bitrate approx. 800kbps for VCD content again.

    The other alternative to MPEG-4 is Windows Media Encoder that does WMV and ASF files. You need to go to the Microsoft site to download them.
    The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
