  1. i just transferred some family movies from my dv to my pc hd and wondering can i edit the video after encoding to mpeg?

    i want to cuts some sence, add title and join before burning it to dvdr

    Adobe Premiere is the god of PC video editors.

    Same for Mac, but Mac gives you Final Cut Pro as another great choice.

    Price? Not too cheap. Unless you know of other ways to get it, of which I won't make any additional comments.

  4. Yes, well it depends on the software you are using, but most editing packages let you edit mpeg1&2, AVI, etc...

    ... although for quality-reasons it would be advisable to edit before encoding to mpg2, if at all possible. In the mpg2-standard, adjacent frames depend on each other, so if you edit your movie and the editing application isnŽt carefull about where it places the cuts (on frame-level) youŽll get anything from jerky playback to complete stops.
