    Hello,
I was wondering if anybody knows how to get the DTS/DD/THX/etc. Intro Videos off of a DVD. How do I find the video and then how do I get it off of the Disk?
The disk that I am playing with right now is the StarWars Ep.2 Disk and the intro is a THX one.
    Any Thoughts?

    Thanks

  2. I am guessing you mean removing the intro from a copy of this disk you are making.

I dont know for sure, but i beleive a program called IFOedit can do this relativly simply. Try a search for it.

I just did a Yahoo search for THX vob and I got all kinds of results. Check out this website: http://dvdgsm.free.fr/vob.html, its in French, but I think you will be able to figure it out. It has a link to a bunch of .VOB files such as Dolby Digital, DTS, and THX. It's probably easier to just download the trailer from the website than to try to figure out which one of the files on the DVD is the THX trailer.

I went and found IFOedit and all I have found I can do with it is take the FBI Warnings out of the movie. I can't find the movie itself. I'm probably looking in the worng place.

  5. I originaly thought you wanted to remove the intro from a copy you were making (reducing file sizes etc), but now realised you want to rip the intro from a DVD - a different approach is needed.

I havent tried this yet, but i think it should work.
When i rip dvd's its usually episode DVDs, which i convert to single divx vids for each ep. I do this with smart ripper and DVDx. I use the DVDx custom chapters option, to chose which bits to rip at a time. I usually rip from fx anime DVDs, that dont have intros like you are after, but i am guessing if they did, they would show up in the chapter selection screen.

If you dont already have them, download DVDx and smart ripper from the tools section, and give it a go (they are quite small programs, so wont waste much time).

let me know how it go's
