  1. ... when u want to match ur visuals to ur audio, I remember reading something about getting the frame rate and dividing it by something- but I need to know the technical name for it to do a search, help!

    My HEADWRECKING problem lies with xvid coded avi's, my audio goes out of synch about 30mins into the multiplexed mpeg1. Ive even used a visual only avi with the audio stripped from the visual and an uncompressed wav file ripped from the source avi for the audio using vdub.

    Ive multiplexed using tmpenc as well. Should I get that Autodub or try that matching process.

    Im pretty sure the audio is standard mp3 and not ac3 as well. Using nics xivd, vdub, and tmpeng, and soon, lots of alcohol!!!

    Anyone know what im talking about?!

    Cheers

    Did you scan for and remove any bad frames from the source file before doing anything else?

  3. hi Zip!

    Ive just done a scan, heres the result;

    1525 frames masked, 14 frames bad and 1511 good but undecodeable. Im guessing I need to remove these bad frames, but wont that leave me with missing video and therefore even more unsynched audio.

    Also are them undecodeable frames normal or something I should look into?

    p.s.- I already have vdub and nandub, should I get that autodub or just upgrade my dubs?!

    Many thanx

    You have to remove all the masked frames either by editting using VDub-mp3 or if using regular Vdub then just set audio and video to direct stream copy then save AVI. Either way the video and the audio will be editted together and you will lose all of the masked frames, in your case about 50 secs. or so. This scanning should be done before doing anything else with the file, once that is done you can go on to process it in whichever manner you choose. I think you'll find that this will help you avoid a lot of problems.
