Anyone got any tweaks or fixes for this? I seem to be capturing perfectly, and then a few minutes into the capture all of the icons disappear for a split second and re-appear, and then my capture program tells me I dropped frames. I have a Dell P4 1.8GHz with 512MB RAM so I would think I have a strong enough machine. Is Win2K better than XP when it comes to this? Any help would be appreciated.

Chances are it is not a problem with "XP".
Suspect any type of RAM resident programs, such as screen savers, antivirus, instant messenger, realplayer products, network connection, etc. You can use msconfig to turn off most of them. Do not leave "Windows Explorer" open during capture, as it refreshes filesizes on an interval basis. Temporarily, during captures disconnect network and modem cables.
