  1. I'm trying to convert an Xvid file to mpg so I can burn to DVD using MF2.

    My problems are

    1. On my desktop, about half way through, the video frame freezes but TMPGenc PLUS keeps on encoding. When I play back, I have a frozen frame the remainder of my mpeg.

    2. On my Laptop using TMPGenc, it looks like it will take about 20 hours to encode - it's already been 11. Can that be right?

    File is 576x240, 23.976fps, XviD MPEG-4 Codec

Are there some settings I can change? Am I missing something. I've never converted an Xvid before.

One more thing, when I load it into Virtual Dub, I get improper VBR audio encoding detected. Says it will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values. This is all new to me. I used VDUB to strip the audio like the TMPGenc instructions say.

    TIA!

Tenders claims this works well with XVID. I personally have not had much luck with it, but I'm pretty new to this as well and I may be doing something wrong. If your mpeg freezes perhaps deleting any bad frames you may have will fix it. Use the guide and read the comments on it. They are very helpful.
