multiplex it with tmpgenc.....video header trick will make it a mpeg1 with mpeg2 quality

Here's a link to the VCD Header Trick:
http://www.vcdeasy.org/modules.php?name=_Guides&id=VcdTrick
Hope That Helps!!!:P

I also use the vcd-header trick but the problem is when I convert the mpeg2 file to a mpeg1 file (video-cd) the file increases with more than 200MB
Why is that and is there a way to prevent this?

this is the error i got from tmpgenc after it finished multiplxing the file
"Warning
65912 s packets cause buffer underflow.
The MPEG file might cause error when it played."
and when i play the file w/ powerdvd and windows media player, there's no picture, only skippy sound
i've tried it w/ different mpeg2 files but same error appears -
yes m8........that will happen when its played on a pc.....but 99% of dvd standalone players will play it normal.
burn to cdr and try m8. -
really?
so that file's suppose to be skippy and destructed when i play it on pc?
but when i put the product file back to the multiplex tab
it still appears as a mpeg2 file -

that's y i use the multiplex f'cn to check the file again, and it turns out it's still mpeg2 even tho i did the multiplex trick -
What vcd header do you use?
I first tried the vcd non standard header which gave bad result
Then i tried vcd header which gave good results

XVCD, 352x240 (or try 352x480) with 2600 bitrate looks good to me. Another thing: anything on CD will NEVER look as good as DVD. Really good? Yes. Like DVD? No. SVCD is about as high as you get. If SVCD is not an option go for the next best, the XVCD I suggested. If it won't work. Keep asking. I don't mess with CD too much, I have DVD burners.

hi there
filempeg2.mpg (352x288/352x240) de-multiplex
then multiplex again -first add files then adjust the header in the tab as VCD NON-Compliant and you will have the same size
if using the standar VCD the file will be bigger
remember that the frame size should be 352x288 or 352x240 otherwise
the standalone DVD won´t play it

but at least i want my file to play smoothly, and now it's not~~~
2man: but i thought those (352x288/352x240) arent the frame size of mpeg2 file?
KYUSS: i've read it like 10 times! and i'm pretty sure that i followed all the procedures~ -
Also, the header trick doesn't work on all players either.

If the motion is jerky, be sure to LOWER the motion quality (it does not mean low quality, I'd explain, but don't have time for that novel), and lower you GOPs to under 3 each. Even 1 each I/B/P if needed. That should fix motion.
